Other ways to participate

WE CAN'T PRESERVE THIS PUNK COMMUNITY SPACE OR REIMAGINE ITS FUTURE WITHOUT RELYING ON EACH OTHER.
THERE ARE SO MANY WAYS TO GET INVOLVED.

Make a donation to the 309 Punk Project to support our overall efforts from the Artist-in-Residence program, Historic Archives, the building of our Recording Studio, and all of our events. We are all volunteers, so everything goes to support the cause. Thanks for your continued support of

We need art, t-shirts, zines, flyers, punk ephemera, videos and pictures to add to our 309 Punk Archive.

If it was made there or has any sort of relationship to 309, we would love to add it to our collection.   Have anything that you would love to see preserved with care?
Send  it on

We are trying to organize a nation wide fundraising network of punks who believe in us.

Would you be willing to host a fundraising event in your town that would support 309 Punk Project?
Hell Yeah
Donations and Grants are used to:

  • Sustain an Artist in Residency Program that serves all of our community and gives voice to underrepresented creative populations (LGBTQ+, Female, all people of color, etc.)
  • Offer stipends, when available, to support our AIR's to mount exhibitions and/or create self published works.
  • Mount experimental exhibitions that feature regional, national and global contemporary DIY art from both the established and emerging artists participating in the International Artist in Residency Program
  • Program workshop and/or educational community events surrounding and led by each Artist in Residence Participant or our DIY local community.
  • Purchase of archival storage materials for donations to the 309 Punk Archive.
  • Supplement our Julia Gorton Photography Grant to be awarded to a local DIY photographer.

309 Punk  Project Plan in Five Phases

Phase I

In 2016, founding members of the 309 Punk  Project began fundraising and to raise awareness of our mission.
worked to collect and archive ephemera from the Pensacola Punk community.

We operate as curators, exhibiting the ephemera collected thus far through collaborative curatorial projects and  public programming. We are also artists and writers, creating original cultural products inspired by our collective histories.

Phase II

The house located at 309 North 6th Avenue, known as “309” was purchased from the former owners in Spring of 2019.
Our ultimate goal is to buy 309 outright with money we’ve raised through various fundraising strategies, from online crowdsourcing, requests for donations from wealthier investors, and grant funding.

Phase III

We began phase four with crucial structural renovations to the  century old structure. These major renovations began in the Summer of 2019 and were completed in August, 2020.

The 309 Punk Project offers two upstairs rooms to the local community for fair, all-inclusive, rent with a renewable yearly lease.

Phase IV

Though COVID-19 unexpectedly forced us to delay the official opening of the space, we've rolled out a number of virtual programs to be as "open" as we can during the global pandemic without jeopardizing public health.
We have diligently documented our beginnings so that we may prove our dedication to this project and procure grants and yearly fiscal support to fulfill our mission.

We have put in place a Board of Directors and an Advisory Committee. We are reaching out to local and national folks who are committed to seeing us through these humble beginnings to a sustainable, and self-reliant non-profit organization.

We look forward to the support and accountability provided by the future 309 Punk Project Board of Directors and the 309  Punk Project Advisory Committee.

Phase V

We have survived Covid through Omicron, and carefully launched our Artist in Residence Program and had a full calendar year of participating artists lined up for 2022. The 2023 calendar was released on January 1, 2023.

In addition, we have procured a grant writer to help supplement our fiscal resources, previously supported by individual donations. Our first grant came in Fall 2022. However, we continue to search for larger grants to help make 309 Punk Project sustainable. In other words, we still need your support!
