She writes:
Attending the residency at 309 Punk Project was the highlight of my year. I didn’t realize how much I needed to be dropped into a space of pure, uninterrupted creativity. My rat shirt came from the fact that I was born in the Year of the Rat, and because rats have always felt like the true mascots of the outsiders, symbols of resilience, mischief, and creative abundance.
I spent my nights alone in that big old punk house, and honestly, if it hadn’t been for a few rats scurrying through at two in the morning, I wouldn’t have had anyone to cozy up to.
FYI, we have since resolved this issue. We think.
